GO is a
community-curated open studio project.

This is what 30,000 GO maps look like on skids. Steffani, our Project Coordinator, is demonstrating the scale of this enormous load sitting in our basement.

GO maps are a 30-page booklet showing all 1800+ studios that will be open on Sept 8-9.  Right now, we are allocating maps to artists during their material pickup and, eventually, these maps will be distributed to the public via info spots throughout Brooklyn on open studio weekend.

Artist material pickup continues at the Museum this week:

  • Wednesday, August 29, 11am–6pm
  • Thursday, August 30, 11am–6pm
  • Friday, August 31, 11am–6pm
  • Wednesday, September 5, 11am–6pm
  • Thursday, September 6, 11am–6pm
  • Friday, September 7, 11am–6pm

Last weekend, over 300 artists came to get their allocation, which includes maps, wayfinding signs, studio door posters, postcards and more. Remember, if you can’t make one of these dates, you’ll need to send a friend to come pick up in your place because this will be the only distribution point for these materials.

Wondering if you really need this stuff?  You do!  The studio door sign poster included in the allocation provides check-in instructions for voters and a place to put your artist code, which will be given to you late next week.  That, plus maps, is reason enough alone.
